She’s a Victoria’s Secret “Angel,” was number one in Maxim Magazine’s 2008 hot list and last year graced the coveted cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition — but Marisa Miller works hard for her stunning six-pack and her secret involves a lot of sweating, socking and splashing.
“I box a lot, I spin and I surf,” Miller told Tarts at the launch of Naturally Victoria’s Secret Beauty at The Grove in Los Angeles on Saturday. “I try to mix it up. I obviously have to be in shape 24 hours and the gym can be super monotonous, so I just get outside and try to make it fun so my body doesn’t get bored.”
But it turns out that the California native does have to cheat a little in order to hide her (gasp) cellulite when getting ready to strut in a swimsuit.
“Skin is huge and there are so many great bronzers. Self tanners were a little funky ten years ago but the color is a lot better now. That’s the most important thing, if you have a little glow it really hides imperfections - bruises, spider veins, we all have little cellulite,” Miller added. “When you have that glow and you’re moisturized the light hits you in a different way. Especially after winter we have really dry skin it’s important to exfoliate, moisturize and do a self-tanner.”
And even though millions of men across the world have probably spent hours drooling over the lingerie lass, Miller herself feels much more lauded when she gets a little love from the ladies.
“Not to discredit the guys, but when a woman gives a compliment it’s very special. There is nothing more flattering than a woman to say ‘I’m a fan’ or ‘I think you’re beautiful’,” she added. “I don’t know why, but it means a lot to get a compliment from a woman.”
Speaking of womanly issues, after a few of the 30-year-old’s friends had breast-cancer scares she decided to step up and take action.
“I’m involved with the Young Survivors Coalition they focus on support and research for women under 40, there is a big gap in research and women do get cancer in 20’s and 30’s and its often more aggressive,” Miller explained. “When I heard about this I wanted to tell my friends and my sisters, it’s not something to be afraid of, just be aware of.”

A model-turned-boxer has been banned from fighting - because of her breast implants.
Sarah Blewden, 25, has been told that repeated blows to her false breasts could knock them out of shape and damage her breast tissue.
Now boxing chiefs won’t allow her to compete - dealing a knock-out blow for her hopes of competing in the Olympics in the future.
The pretty pugilist had breast enlargement surgery in 2003 to take her chest size up to a 32C from a 32B and to boost her modeling career.
She turned to boxing two years ago as a way of keeping fit but realised she had a natural talent for it.
Sarah, who runs a successful hair salon, applied to the Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) so she could compete in the ring.
She was stunned when she was told she wasn’t allowed to fight under Queensbury rules due to her implants.
A medical expert from the association said Sarah’s chest was at risk of ‘capsular contracture’ or distortion if they were repeatedly hit.
Blood cells in the breast tissue pushed forward by the implants could also be harmed, it was ruled.
Sarah, from Poole, Dorset, said: ‘I think it is just ridiculous. My surgeon said they make me no more vulnerable than any other woman. They are not enormous ones - they are in proportion.

‘They are gel implants and not liquid so they won’t burst. And if I suffer capsular contracture and need to pay for corrective surgery then that is my decision.’
Sarah also asked the ABA if she could wear a breast protector in the ring but was told that might not prevent her breasts from damage.
She said: ‘They told me they have not got an approved breast protector but it just seems they haven’t done the research and aren’t willing to do it. I think I am the first woman to approach the ABA with this problem.
‘Women haven’t been allowed to box for that long and this is an obstacle I want to get over so other women like me won’t have the same problem.’
Sarah, who trains eight hours a week, said she used to do Thai boxing which involves kicks to the body and her enhanced breasts survived that intact.
She added: ‘Amateur boxing is not about knocking people out, it is about scoring points through skill. It is great at keeping you fit. I have been told I am good at it and I just want the chance to go on in the sport.’
Her trainer Mark Plunkett, from Poole, said: ‘Sarah is very talented at boxing. She wants to box at a very high standard and is desperate to go to the Olympics.
‘The ABA are running the risk of losing her talent. This is the first case they have come across and they don’t know how to deal with it. The damage they are saying that can be done can be done to any woman boxer whether they have implants or not.
‘They believe that if she gets hit too many time her implants might burst but that is not the case as she has gel ones.’
Tony Attwood, the chairman of the Amateur Boxing Association of England, said they had been hoping to find an effective breast plate that would protect boxer’s chest area.
He said: ‘International rules forbid anyone with breast implants continuing to box because of risk of damage to the breast tissue.
‘The natural breast tissue is pushed forward in front of the implant and it is this that is more at risk.
‘Also repeated punches to the breast makes more likely that capsular contracture may develop around the implant and you would need corrective surgery to put it right.
‘We had been hoping to do a study on breast protection so people like Sarah could box in the future but the International Amateur Boxing Association withdrew funding for it.’

(Hey CDANers! Jax here. Enty unfortunately was called away last minute out of town and asked me to post a bit here and there to fill the day for you all. Don’t worry, there will still be FFF. So here we go!)Ok so I’m sure most of you have read already about Kanye West getting arrested on suspicion of assault late last night in Newcastle, UK. Well he was later released without charges and the story emerged that the photographer accusing Kanye of assault tried the same thing with a famous footballer last month. The picture associated with this particular incident on TMZ shows the photographer with a very small scrape. I’m sure it wasn’t pleasant, but hardly worthy of the original charge.
Witnesses to the altercation insist that Kanye asked the photographer several times to comply with his wishes to not be pictured. I guess at 4am not everyone wants to be caught on camera buying from a hotdog vendor.
While I would never condone violence one has to ask, does there come a time when celebrities have the right to protect their privacy by any means necessary? Or do they forgo that right as a public figure?
