“Spider-Man” actress Kirsten Dunst has served as a star witness against a man charged in the theft of her designer purse from a New York City hotel suite while she was on a movie set.

The 27-year-old Dunst on Thursday gave jurors a rundown of the August 2007 theft. She says she was filming the comedy “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People” at the SoHo Grand hotel when she discovered her $2,000 Balenciaga bag and its contents, including $2,000 in cash, were missing. The purse and her credit cards were eventually returned.

Thirty-five-year-old James Jimenez (HIM’-in-ehs) is charged with burglary. His lawyer has pinned the blame on a co-defendant who pleaded guilty to attempted burglary.

Since Kirsten Dunst went to rehab early last year she has been doing pretty good. I define pretty good as staying the hell out of the pap lenses making a fool out of yourself. She has done that. There have been some slips and Radar and The National Enquirer (same company) are both reporting that Kirsten was slamming double vodkas down at The Roosevelt Hotel while she was celebrating her brother’s birthday.

Here is my take on this. I think Kirsten went to rehab for something far more serious than booze. She was an effed up mess before she went to rehab and since then has been normal and has looked healthy. If booze is not what she had a problem with and it is not her trigger for whatever else she might have been taking, then is it ok for her to booze it up?

If you will remember, right before she went to rehab you never saw her sober, and she always looked skinny and not healthy and was basically partying non stop 24/7 (see photo above).

I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt. She has been caught drinking before since leaving rehab and she hasn’t gone off the deep end.

The Daily Express in London is reporting the ridiculous idea that Kirsten Dunst is not sure whether or not she wants to participate in Spiderman 4 and 5. Tobey Maguire is already on board for the new installments, but supposedly Kirsten wants to make sure the story is going to be a strong one in terms of her character.

Uh huh. Umm. Kirsten. It’s Spiderman. It’s a job. A very easy job which pays you gobs of money and allows you to sit around and do nothing for two years until the next one. If you want to do a strong character role, then great, spend some time in between Spiderman movies and do an indie. I’m sure they would love to have you.

Does anyone honestly think Kirsten would ever walk away from the Spiderman movies? It would be the biggest screwup ever in the walking out contests. Bigger than Caruso and NYPD Blue. Bigger than Shelley Long in Cheers. She won’t do it. She might be bluffing for more money, but lets face it. What else would she do?

They’ve been linked to each other on and off for a year, and a Page Six spy saw them at Blue Ribbon Sushi on Sullivan Street Thursday night. “They were whispering and smiling at each other,” said the onlooker. “At times it looked like she wanted to grab his hand, but stopped. She was especially smitten with him.” Hartnett has recently been linked to Rihanna and Sienna Miller, and Dunst has been spotted with Justin Long and Ryan Gosling.

You may or may not have seen the story yesterday about how Kirsten Dunst got a restraining order against an alleged stalker. I can’t imagine why he would be stalking her, but apparently he has been found at her house several times over the past few months. Maybe he just wants his $2? Plus tip.

When I was reading the story, I just thought to myself that the guy could have done better with his stalking target. Hell, he probably didn’t even need to stalk her. Just join a band and she will find you. But, what really shocked me was the fact that Kirsten has an assistant. What the hell does she need an assistant for? She does maybe one movie a year, and she doesn’t seem to be in any kind of demand except for bachelor parties. Being her assistant must be the easiest assistant job in all of LA. Hell, the phone probably never rings except when Kirsten calls to make sure the phone really does work.

I think Kirsten just feels she makes enough money where she is expected to have an assistant. Probably she feels it is also better to have someone go out and buy her cigarettes and booze so that way she can pretend she is far too busy to do those kinds of “everyday people” things.

Kirsten Dunst doesn’t need Spider-Man - she’s got an assistant who recently proved capable of protecting the actress.

Dunst’s assistant performed a citizen’s arrest on a man who bypassed security and showed up at the actress’ Hollywood home in November. Dunst was not home at the time.

Police and Dunst sought a restraining order against Christopher Smith after his Nov. 20 arrest. Documents show state police have found Smith at Dunst’s home several times in recent weeks.

The actress wrote she is “quite frightened” of Smith, whom she has never met.

Records do not indicate whether Smith has an attorney. He is due in court later this month on a trespassing charge. Dunst’s restraining order could be made extended on Dec. 22.

Last year Kirsten Dunst decided to pretend she was a movie star and to tell the world that she was not going to do anymore Spider-Man films unless Tobey Maguire was back as well as the director Sam Raimi.Please. She is the one who is probably calling them constantly and reminding them that she does in fact exist and that she would be willing to work for practically nothing because compared to the salaries of everyone else on the film, it is nothing. Does she really think for an instant that the producers could not find someone else to play Mary Jane Watson. They could make Mary Jane one of those Pixar things and people wouldn’t care. In fact, the Pixar thing would probably do a better job acting. The only downside to the Pixar thing is it would probably cost more money than what Kirsten makes so they might as well use her.

So, yesterday, when MTV interviewed her and asked if she had decided whether she would do Spider-Man 4 she said, “I’m in. I’m not saying anything, I know there’s rumors.”

Umm, you just did say something. You said you are in. So how can you say something and then not say anything? What rumors? That maybe no one really wanted you back, or the rumors you started yourself last year? I’m confused. Not uncommon but when Kirsten Dunst starts rattling off, my mind just can’t handle it. They just need to kill her off so they don’t have to deal with it in Part 5.
