Yes, I know the headline makes you think about whether there are in fact photos of Johnny Depp and SpongeBob making sweet love, but actually it is the news that Johnny is going to be guest starring on SpongeBob on Friday April 17th as a part of the 10th anniversary of the show. Johnny is going to play the love interest of Mr. Krabs as Mr. Krabs finally decides to come out of the closet. No, I’m joking. Johnny is going to play Jack Kahuna Laguna a world famous surfer and a hero to the rest of the characters. It is cool that Johnny is doing this, but I’m sure a lot of it has to do with the fact he has kids and so they probably watch SpongeBob. With the exception of Pirates, this is probably the coolest thing Dad can do.

Have you read the Vanessa Paradis interview in the UK Elle this month? If you are a Johnny Depp fan you should. If you harbor some kind of hopes that he is going to dump Vanessa for you, then you really should just not even bother to open it up.She says that everyone always wants to know when they are getting married. She says she doesn’t need to and as for him? “He’s got me, and he knows he’s got me.” So, she says there really is no need because they have it completely perfect. Well that’s great. He is rich and a movie star married to a model and a singer with two great kids and they have it perfect? Yeah, but would they be perfect if he made $7 and worked at Whole Foods while she gave manicures to rich tourists? I like to think so. Money is important and makes for less arguments, but I like to think that love conquers all anyway.

I mean this is a couple that had to go months and months without seeing each other because they were in different countries. But, they didn’t give up. I like that. If you are in a long distance relationship and just counting down the days until you are together, I think the odds are very good that when you finally do get together, you will be able to get through almost anything.

I think it is great they are together, and they seem perfect for each other.

Yes, yes, I know all of you love Johnny Depp and would like nothing more than to keep him prisoner in your house until, well forever. Well, you may not be able to have Johnny because he is going to be picking up a guaranteed $64M for filming the next installment of Pirates. That eclipses Tom Hanks who had the previous record of $58M. Chump change. The amount for Depp does not include any other points he gets from the success of the film. While I certainly cannot argue that he deserves the money, there are some things worth noting.

Because he is getting paid so much money, there will be no Orlando Bloom and no Keira Knightley in the film. The studio simply can’t afford to pay them and pay Johnny Depp as well. See, now if I’m Johnny’s agent I say f**k it, he deserves the money. If I’m Johnny though, I’m wondering if the movie tanks because there is no one in it but me for the most part, will I ever get this kind of money again? What Johnny should do is reduce that salary by about $10-15M and get the other two back in the film as well.

Sequels can be great. When sequels suck is when the entire cast has disappeared except for one or two people. It just isn’t the same. There is not the same interaction or chemistry. Hello? Smokey And The Bandit 3. Hello? Apollo 14 - Dogs In Space. Johnny Depp is the key behind the films, but maybe a lot of that has to do with who he is playing off in his scenes. If the film just has him and a monkey is everyone going to enjoy that?

Johnny Depp went back to one of his first loves – playing the guitar – at a benefit concert in Pompano Beach, Fla., Friday night.

The Oscar nominee played a 90-minute set with his bandmates from The Kids, a power-pop group formed in 1978 when Depp was a South Florida high schooler, at the 2,800-seat Club Cinema.

And Depp had two of his biggest fans in the audience watching him: girlfriend Vanessa Paradis and their 9-year-old daughter Lily-Rose, who sat together in the venue’s box seats as Depp smiled up at them from the stage (son Jack, 6, was not at the show).

Last year, Depp reunited with his band for a similar gig, held in honor of the band’s late manager, Sheila Witkin, with proceeds donated to the Dan Marino Foundation. The former Miami Dolphin football player’s charity funds programs for children with special needs – including the Marino Autism Research Institute. Marino’s 17-year-old son Michael has autism.

Earlier in the day, the actor – who arrived in South Florida with his family on Thursday to give him some time to rehearse – posed for photos with Marino and his bandmates.

Onstage at Club Cinema, Depp – who dressed down in a blue T-shirt with holes, torn jeans and a flannel shirt tied around his waist – blended in with his fellow band members, playing lead electric guitar and singing background vocals on some of the band’s original tunes, as well as covers of classics like The Ronettes’ “Be My Baby.”

Lily-Rose cheered on her dad during the performance, and the proud daughter even snapped some photos of him with a disposable camera.

Several published reports suggesting Hollywood star Johnny Depp will wed longtime partner Vanessa Paradis at Sandra Bullock’s Georgia home, have been shot down by the actor’s publicist.Catering trucks, police activity and local gossip led many to believe that Bullock’s Tybee Island home near Savannah would be the site of the latest star wedding ceremony. But Depp’s representative Robin Baum says, “There is no truth to these rumors.” That has led Savannah locals to ask who is planning a high-profile wedding at the star’s estate. One says, “Some store employees have signed confidentiality agreements and there are catering trucks and tent rental truck parked up, while I’m told police will be working as security at the mystery event.

It almost happened. The role that really set up Johnny Depp and launched him into his man crush thing with Tim Burton almost didn’t happen. In a recent interview, Johnny said that he really wanted the lead role in Edward Scissorhands, but that he studio had its heart set on Tom Cruise. They really liked Johnny, but apparently they wanted a huge star, and Tom Cruise was the it guy then. Look how times have changed Tommy boy.

The studio went so far as to offer Tom Cruise the role and told Johnny that it was close but Tom had got the part. Well, the next day, the studio called and said they had a change of heart, and they felt Tom Cruise wasn’t edgy enough for the role.

Although I’m sure the studio was just blowing sunshine up Johnny’s ass, the thing is they actually got it right. Can you actually imagine Tom Cruise in that role? That would have been an absolute disaster.
