The Sun is reporting the new Batman movie is moving forward with a a bunch of familiar names being cast as names you wished weren’t in movies. Eddie Murphy has been cast as the Riddler, Shia LaBeouf as Robin and Rachel Weisz as Catwoman. Please someone explain to me why Shia LaBeouf keeps getting hired, and this film isn’t a Spielberg movie? They would be better with Zac Efron as Robin. When it comes to Eddie Murphy as Riddler, it is just wrong. This just went to my must not see list, unless these castings remain rumored.

Comic Eddie Murphy is hinting that he will retire after the much-anticipated Beverly Hills Cop 4 movie, because he wants to get back on the stage. Murphy was an acclaimed stand-up comedian before he became a Hollywood movie star, and now he’s happy to return to comedy clubs and theatres. He says, “Thirty years and I have close to 50 movies and it is like, `Why am I in the movies? I’ve done that part now.’ “I’ll go back to the stage and do stand-up.” But he’s still keen to get a fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie made, after years of looking at bad scripts for the project: “The third one was horrible, so I didn’t want to do another one.” And he insists he isn’t making the new film in the franchise for the money. He adds, “The (third) movie wasn’t ready to be done and they (producers) wrote some s**t down on paper and I said, `Is this your phone number?’ and they said, `This is how much we’re going to pay you.’ “I said, `Let’s go shoot it! I don’t care if the script ain’t right.’”

But seriously that 15′ bust is a promotion for his upcoming movie Meet Dave and that head will be touring the country. They probably spent more money on that prop than the movie will make.

Brett Ratner negotiating to direct 4th ‘Cop’ film

On the heels of the successful revival of the “Indiana Jones” franchise, Paramount has set in motion a fourth installment of “Beverly Hills Cop.”
Eddie Murphy is attached to reprise his role as Detroit detective Axel Foley, and Brett Ratner is negotiating to direct.

Studio is aiming for a 2009 production start and a summer 2010 release.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the original “Beverly Hills Cop” trilogy with late partner Don Simpson, won’t be actively involved in the new film.

Murphy approached the studio about reviving the franchise that cemented his status as a B.O. mega-star. Par brass were eager to land another picture with Murphy after he finished the Karey Kirkpatrick-directed “NowhereLand,” which Paramount releases in June 2009.

That film was also produced by Di Bonaventura, who is working on the summer 2009 releases “G.I. Joe” and “Transformers 2.”

The studio canvassed a number of directors before choosing Ratner. A writer will be hired shortly.

Released in 1984, the original “Beverly Hills Cop” grossed $316 million worldwide and spawned two sequels. All told, the three pics grossed $712.9 million worldwide. The last was released in 1994.

Murphy is currently toplining the Brian Robbins-directed “A Thousand Words” for DreamWorks.

Ratner has been developing the Hugh Hefner biopic “Playboy” for Universal and Imagine.

Hollywood star Eddie Murphy reportedly has found new love on the rebound with a dead ringer for his ex Tracey Edmonds. The actor has been linked with the sister of “CSI: Miami” star Eva LaRue, and friends insist the “Dreamgirls” star is very smitten with Eddie.The happy couple met at Sushiya restaurant in Los Angeles California, where Lara LaRue works as a waitress, and they’ve become inseparable of late. They share the same April 3 birthday.A pal tells In Touch magazine, “He is already telling his friends that he is in love. … He’s been sending Lara huge floral arrangements practically every day.”Murphy has been single since he split from Edmonds in January.The couple wed in Bora Bora on New Year’s Day but split as they attempted to legalize the union in America.

Eddie Murphy leaves Mr. Chow restaurant after having lunch there yesterday in Beverly Hills, California. Eddie was sporting a beret and sunglasses as he exited the restaurant amongst an excited mob of photographers.

Tracey Edmonds came this close on Monday morning to giving the entire world the real story about Eddie Murphy and Johnny Gill. Tracey Edmonds is prohibited by a confidentiality agreement she signed from saying anything about her relationship with Eddie Murphy. Johnny Gill, who is under no such agreement has felt free to trash Tracey whenever he gets the chance.

In order to confuse the public, Johnny has basically offered up four reasons why Tracey and Eddie broke up, with the most prominent being that Eddie’s mother did not like Tracey because Tracey was too greedy. Of course when Johnny refers to Eddie’s mother he calls her “Mommy.”

Meanwhile, Johnny also recently said that he isn’t gay, gets hurt that people think he is gay and that he keeps a stable of women that he chooses from nightly. Uh huh. You can listen to Johnny almost start crying as he throws out all this crap.

So, this radio interview was the end for Tracey. In a statement she had her publicist release to the radio station, she says, “I was very shocked and disappointed to hear of Johnny Gill’s false spin on the chain of events surrounding our wedding. His outrageous lies were clearly a very desperate and pathetic attempt to clean up his reputation at my expense. I would appreciate it if Mr. Gill would refrain from continuing to spread false gossip and lies to the public, and allow everyone involved to move on with their lives. We all know the real truth.”

The very interesting thing here is that Tracey cannot say anything about her relationship with Eddie. If there was nothing going on between Eddie and Johnny, then all she would have to say is that nothing is going on. Instead she talks about him trying to clean up his reputation. She can’t say much more because to say more would then involve details of her relationship with Eddie. If she said something like Johnny and Eddie sleep together every night then that would violate her agreement with Eddie. Now, I guess she could say that Johnny is gay and that in the strictest sense has nothing to do with Eddie, but in a way it does because then everyone assumes, so she really has to be careful about what she says to everyone while Johnny can go around saying whatever he wants.
