Steven Spielberg is so paranoid about security at his office, he keeps a never-used motorcycle permanently parked outside in case he needs to make a getaway, a new book about DreamWorks claims.

In “The Men Who Would Be King,” due May 4 from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, former Variety scribe Nicole LaPorte writes of the “Schindler’s List” director, “His passion for secrecy sometimes suggests a burgeoning near-paranoia.”

Among LaPorte’s claims:

* “In Spielberg’s office, hanging above his desk, a plexiglass half-moon keeps sound from reverberating so that his phone conversations remain ultra-confidential. When an assistant once asked what the funny thing over Spielberg’s desk was, a security guard referred to it as a ‘dome of silence.’ ”

* “When . . . Spielberg’s longtime editor views footage in the screening room, a black cloth is draped over the projection booth window to hide the screen.”

* “Every document that leaves the office — a script, development report, even a memo — is coded, so that should it somehow get into the wrong hands . . . the person responsible for the breach can be identified.”

* “When Spielberg isn’t at [his office], live-cam images are streamed to his home. There are also measures to protect against earthquakes or attacks, as Spielberg believes in being prepared . . . At one point, employees were given survival kits including gas masks and other amenities.”

LaPorte says that none of DreamWorks’ three founders — Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen — would talk, but that she conducted nearly 200 interviews with current and former employees.

Spielberg’s rep said: “This description is so far from the real world of Steven that it doesn’t deserve a comment. If the rest of the book is like this excerpt, readers can expect very little of what they read to be true.”

Although he was once a strong opponent of censorship in the music industry, Donny Osmond was taken aback by the content of Lady Gaga’s music video for Telephone.

He says:

“I’m all for freedom of speech and against any form of censorship, but all I know is that I’m a parent and I’m upset about this.
Unlike 20 years ago, in today’s modern, viral world in which content becomes instantaneously available irrespective of age, I wonder whether the music industry might need to rethink its marketing policies with regard to making an explicit music video containing profanity, sexual exploitation, nudity, and graphic violence available to anyone with Internet access.

I wouldn’t want my child to watch this video. Would you? What do you think? Should these two extremely gifted female role models for millions of young girls, maybe, have given a little more thought to the effect it might have on their core audience?”

Parental discretion is advised, Donny!

The clouds have lifted on the mystery of Lindsay Lohan’s powdered shoes.

The troubled actress lashed out at comedian George Lopez after he made a quip about her powdery shoes on his show Monday night.

Lohan took to Twitter to vent spleen on the “George Lopez Tonight” host when during his monologue he laughed about her using powder to make her heels fit.

“Thanks for the childish comment regarding baby powder in my shoes to loosen up the leather,” she tweeted.

“Don’t you have kids? U wouldn’t wanna hear that about them, or would you? Act like a grown man, have some respect and dignity for yourself.”

In response to Lohan’s furious post, Lopez asked the actress to visit his show.

“You want me to stop talking about you I will,” he tweeted. “Come and tell me … To my face … I’ll stop!! Respectfully.”

Tabloids went wild over the weekend when the “Mean Girls” star was photographed leaving a friend’s house with what appeared to be smoke billowing from her shoes.

Prior to that, the 23-year-old has been photographed falling over several times during the past few weeks, which she has blamed on her footwear.

After bailing Wednesday night upon leaving a party, Lohan tweeted, “Only I would get pushed into a large, sharp plant by crazy paparazzi!!! I need to start wearing more flats.”

Olympic gold-winning skier Bode Miller was back to his bad-boy ways last weekend, hitting on lingerie-clad beauties at the Playboy Mansion.

Miller made a beeline for former “Survivor” contestant Corinne Kaplan at Playboy Golf’s Pajamas & Lingerie Party at the Beverly Hills pleasure palace.

Dressed in baby blue pajamas with a flap he opened to reveal his backside to giggling girls, Miller chatted up Kaplan, who quit her job as a pharmaceutical sales representative to appear on the 2008 season of “Survivor Gabon,” where she became known as a “self-proclaimed uber-bitch.”

A spy told us, “Corinne looked gorgeous in lingerie. He was flirting with her all night. They were laughing and dancing, and the next thing you know they left together holding hands.”

Also there was Post sex columnist and Playboy pin-up Ashley Dupre in a bathrobe on the arm of a mystery man.

A rep for Bode declined to comment.

Former Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey got acquainted with former porn star Traci Lords at the Winter Music Conference in Miami.

Shockey, who caught a Super Bowl touchdown pass for the New Orleans Saints last month, was chatting up Lords at a party for singer-songwriter Sylvia Tosun and hosted by mix engineer Tom Lord-Alge at his bachelor pad.

But Shockey had even more fun with the host and guest of honor — according to our spies, he returned to the apartment the next day and picked up both Lord-Alge and Tosun for a joy ride around Miami in his souped-up vintage Dodge Charger.

Actor Woody Harrelson has exploded the myth he’s a sex addict – insisting a remark he once made was blown out of proportion.

The movie star was once asked about rumours he was hooked on sex and he responded by stating, “I can’t think of anything better to be addicted to.”

But he admits the joke went too far and now he’s keen to go public with the absolute truth.

In a new Hustler interview with the publication’s boss Larry Flynt, Harrelson says, “It came out that I described myself as a sex addict. That’s not true. I can go through long droughts.”

But the actor admits he has wasted a lot of time chasing women.

He adds, “I do sometimes think I probably could have become a scholar in multiple languages and learned various martial arts and acupuncture. I could have written books, given all the time I spent (chasing women).”

“The Hangover” Sequel Is A Go

Apr 5, 2010 Author: showbiznews.info | Filed under: Celebrity News, Showbiz News, Celebrity Photos, Celebrity Gossip

The three stars of ‘The Hangover’ have signed up to make a sequel.

After weeks of rumours, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, will get around $5 million each for a second instalment of the comedy, while director and producer Todd Phillips is set to earn $10 million.

‘The Hangover’ – which tells the story of four men who go on a bachelor party in Las Vegas and three wake up the next morning with no memory of what happened the night before and have lost the groom-to-be – is the highest grossing R-rated comedy of all time, after becoming a surprise box office smash.

Cooper, Helms and Galifianakis made less than $1 million collectively for the original movie and were reportedly keen to get a much better deal the second time around, according to website deadline.com.

Justin Bartha, who played the missing groom in the original, will also be back for the sequel, which is set to begin filming in October.

Although other cast members are yet to be revealed, Zac Efron recently revealed he would love to star in ‘The Hangover 2′.

The ‘High School Musical’ heartthrob said: “I haven’t got that call yet to join them but that would be amazing. I think that they’re amazing and I love the cast that they’ve got going on.”
