Most of us remember model-turned-actress Andie MacDowell as Emilio Estevez’s crush in “St. Elmo’s Fire” or the victim of adultery in “Sex, Lies and Videotape” – but the classic beauty is back in two new Lifetime flicks “At Risk” and “The Front” (based on the Patricia Cornwell novels), both set to air next year, and she’s stepped out of her comfort zone to play naughty.
“I play a real bi**h, I was a narcissistic sex addict and had to sleep with young men,” MacDowell said as L’Oreal Paris (for which she is an ambassador) received a Friend of the Walk of Fame in Hollywood on Tuesday. “But it was embarrassing because I’m pretty shy and yet I had to look at myself in the mirror and take my clothes off …”
But one thing Ms MacDowell isn’t “embarrassed” about is her age and unrelenting determination to get work in an industry centered on juvenescence.
“We live in a society that sees getting older in a certain way, but I keep trying to tell myself of my value and my worth. I’m really comfortable with my age, I’m 51 and I have no shame about that whatsoever and I’m really comfortable in my skin,” she said. “I take really good care of myself and I insist to not go away. I want to work because it brings me a sense of self worth and dignity, I like my job. I may not be the lead or I may not get the starring roles that I used to because so many movies revolve around youth, but I refuse to go away because I enjoy it. I always find a way to get work. It may not be the best parts I used to get or it may not be as easy, but I’m still here.”
And although she’s past the half-a-century mark, MacDowell still manages to look au natural and stunning – so L’Oreal products aside, what’s her secret?
“Drinking a lot of water, getting enough sleep and doing yoga – but I really think it is acceptance. We all get older so I’m celebrating it,” she added. “Wonderful things happen when you turn 50, you change perspective. You ask, ‘who am I? What do I want to do with my life? What have I not done that I want to do?’ I feel like I’m enjoying life more, it’s not so much about pleasing other people. I feel like I’ve had so many successes on so many levels even if it is just my relationships with my friends.”

Suri, 3, is already a budding fashionista — and Katie insists that the style choices are hers alone! “She picks them out,” Holmes tells “Extra” of the tot’s wardrobe. “She’s a very good shopper… she goes in and she knows exactly what she likes, and she picks it out.”
In addition to parenting Suri, Katie also is step-mom to Tom’s kids, Connor and Bella — but is she ready for more kids of her own? When “Extra” asked Katie about expanding her brood, the actress only laughed.
The “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” star also chatted about watching hubby Tom Cruise perform stunts on the Boston set of his flick “Wichita.” “It was exciting… I mean, it was a little scary,” Holmes admitted, “but I also know he’s so strong… and he’s doing that for that effect… so I’m like, ‘Oh my god… okay.’”

Presidente and Presidente Light, the Official Imported Beer for this year’s celebrated FUNKSHION Fashion Week Miami Beach, has announced the winner of its design contest for the official t-shirt of South Florida’s premier week of style and celebrity.
Valerie Cabrera, 21, from the Dominican Republic, had her t-shirt design unveiled to the media during FUNKSHION Fashion Week Miami Beach press registration at the Nicole Miller Store in Miami Beach, hosted by Nicole Miller, at 656 Collins Avenue, on Wednesday, October 14th. The official Presidente t-shirt of FUNKSHION Fashion Week Miami Beach was available as a special gift to the media on the opening day of events.

In September this year, Presidente USA, in partnership with Miami International University of Art & Design, invited students to submit design ideas that would capture “The True Taste Of The Caribbean” – Presidente’s unique and multi-cultural brand philosophy. More than 35 students from the MIU fashion department put forward their ideas, from which a total of six finalists were chosen by a committee from the fashion department’s faculty. Valerie’s chosen concept emerged as the winning design with a stylish depiction of the Presidente bottle featuring a series of fashion-forward messages developed to appeal to the style-conscious mind and blend fashion with the Presidente’s “True Living” message.
“I am truly thrilled to be chosen as the winner of the t-shirt design contest for this year’s FUNKSHION Fashion Week Miami Beach,” said Cabrera. “I felt that the wide and popular recognition of Presidente’s green bottle was the most appropriate way of expressing my vision for representing the brand within a fashion context. I’m so excited to see my design come to life and being worn during the upcoming week of events.”
“Our belief was that Valerie’s design was the most unique and most compelling as a representation of our brand essence,” said Melissa Giles from Presidente USA. “We are pleased to be unveiling her design on Wednesday, as the Official t-shirt, and to commemorate our involvement as an official sponsor of this year’s FUNKSHION Fashion Week Miami Beach and its week-long showcase of cutting-edge designers.”
“We are delighted to welcome Valerie as the winner of Presidente’s t-shirt design contest for FUNKSHION Fashion Week Miami Beach,” says Alexander “Sale” Stojanovic, co-founder of FUNKSHION. “Starting with our opening press event and unveiling at the Nicole Miller Store on Wednesday, we anticipate Valerie’s t-shirt to be a popular focal point throughout the week and we welcome her to the FUNKSHION family of designers.”

No punches were thrown. And neither bit off the other’s ear.
Mutual praise and admiration dominated during a face-to-face meeting Friday between former world champion boxers Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield on a live episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
On June 28, 1997, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Tyson was disqualified after biting off part of Holyfield’s right ear during their WBA heavyweight title fight.
A respectful Tyson shook hands with his former rival several times during their encounter Friday – which he said was his first chance to speak at length with Holyfield since the ear chomp that made worldwide headlines. Tyson later met with Chicago Mayor Richard Daley.
Tyson told Winfrey earlier that an initial apology after the incident was insincere. But when she asked what he wanted to say to Holyfield, Tyson stopped short of apologizing again. He instead poured on the praise.
“This is a beautiful guy,” he said, holding Holyfield’s arm affectionately for several seconds. “I just want you to know it’s just been a pleasure … being acquainted with you.”
Asked by Winfrey if he was still missing part of his ear, Holyfield pointed to it and said, “Just a little bit.”
Holyfield also had a confession of sorts to make: He himself has bitten others, during childhood roughhousing with his siblings as a way to get out of headlocks.
“You talk about biting,” he said. “I’m the person that bit every brother in my family.”
Holyfield said one reason he wanted to appear with Tyson on television was to demonstrate to youth caught up in violence that reconciliation is always possible.
“We can come together,” he said. “We know you can come together.”
After sitting down with Winfrey, Tyson spent about 25 minutes meeting with Daley at his City Hall office.
Tyson had asked for the meet-and-greet with Daley and a spokeswoman said the mayor was interested in the chance to talk to the boxer about the problem of youth violence.
Chicago has been in the national spotlight since a cell phone video captured the fatal beating of a high school honors student last month.
Tyson said he understands the pain some young people feel.
“I was one of them. I’m that guy,” he said.
