Police in California say former actress Tawny Kitaen has been arrested for investigation of driving under the influence.

Newport Beach police Sgt. Shontel Sherwood says Kitaen was arrested at about 3 p.m. Saturday when officers suspected she had been driving her Range Rover under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Kitaen was released after posting $2,500 bail.

William Briggs, an attorney who has previously represented Kitaen, did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

The 48-year-old Kitaen recently appeared on the VH1 reality show “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.”

She first found fame appearing in 1980s music videos for future husband David Coverdale’s band Whitesnake. She also played the bride-to-be of Tom Hanks’ character in the 1984 film “Bachelor Party.”

Amy Robach, considered the hottest female on TV, is engaged. The “Weekend Today” anchor (Miss Georgia 1995) has agreed to marry Andrew Shue, the soccer-playing hunk from the original “Melrose Place” who co-founded Do Something, the nonpartisan nonprofit that encourages volunteerism. The wedding should be fun. Shue’s sister, Elisabeth, was Oscar-nominated for “Leaving Las Vegas,” and his brother-in-law, Davis Guggenheim, won an Oscar for directing “An Inconvenient Truth.”

Jennifer Garner and Martha Stewart chatted about their pooches while crafting doggy tote bags. Garner’s issues with her husband’s dog, who she described as “very bad,” led to Martha’s public apology to Jessica Simpson, who recently lost her malti-poo, Daisy. Martha remarked, “I said that she should have been watching her dog more closely, but I feel very very sorry for anybody that loses a pet. Jessica, I hope you find your pet, but if you don’t I’m really sorry that you lost one.”

Jennifer Garner commenting on her Ben’s dog:

MS: You have one dog and Ben [Affleck] has another. A German Shepherd, right?

JG: Yes, the bad dog.

MS: He’s bad?

JG: He’s very bad.

MS: Why? What makes him a bad dog? He ate the steak?

JG: Martha, he’s so bad and I can say that because I know the chances of Ben watching this show – no offense – are not great, but his dog is bad and mine is good. His dog took the chicken off the grill. It was up on top of the toaster oven on a plate. The doors were closed…the baby cried…I went to get her and I heard a bang.

MS: And you left the door open.

JG: He opened a door!

MS: Your fault! No, no. YOU left the door open. I know exactly what happens. Oh my gosh, I just got in trouble with Jessica Simpson’s dog. Did you hear about all this? I want to make a public apology for a misunderstanding – not for what I said. I said that she should have been watching her dog more closely, but I feel very very sorry for anybody that loses a pet. Jessica, I hope you find your pet, but if you don’t I’m really sorry that you lost one…

Sexy Stephen Moyer let slip to “Extra” that there will be more creatures than just vamps, shape-shifters and Maenids on the next season of “True Blood.”

“The only word that I know about is werewolves,” Stephen coyly told “Extra” at a benefit for Good Animal Dog Rescue at L.A. Dogworks. “I know nothing, but Alan has already admitted there will be werewolves. There are in book three of the series.”

Moyer also dished on his engagement to co-start Anna Paquin — and how she hates surprises. “I try to surprise her all the time and she loathes it,” Stephen said, adding that his proposal shocked the actress. “She opened it up, she looked at it, and she looked at me. I said, ‘It is what you think it is.’ She said, ‘Oh yeah what do I think it is?’ And the rest is private.”

Stephen also admitted to “Extra” that the pair kept their relationship under wraps for as long as possible. “We wanted it to be serious. We wanted to know that what we were doing was absolutely the right thing before we brought all the craziness — you guys — into it. We wanted to make sure it was the right thing for everybody to be doing before making that decision.”

Moyer and Paquin have had the pleasure of filming numerous sex scenes together for “True Blood” — but Stephen said that the crew’s knowledge has taken away the awkwardness. “Our crew has seen everything — seen all the wobbly bits. So I suppose the fact that they do know takes all the embarrassment away. ‘Oh there’s those two again getting their tongues down each other’s throats.’”

After a small car accident, Megan Mullally, a recent addition to the cast of Party Down, has ended up with a cast on her wrist.

Once the writers knew she was going to be fine, they quickly made her minor mishap into a major new storyline. Mullally’s character, Lydia, will sport a bright pink cast in several of the episodes that are scheduled to air in spring 2010. Lydia will explain to her “Party Down” catering compatriots that the accident occurred while she was practicing trust falls with her 13-year-old daughter Escapade.

Mullally (“Will & Grace,” Fame) plays Lydia Dunfree, a middle-aged refugee from a lousy marriage who leaves small town life to move to Hollywood where her 13-year-old daughter hopes to make it as an actress..

“Spider-Man” actress Kirsten Dunst has served as a star witness against a man charged in the theft of her designer purse from a New York City hotel suite while she was on a movie set.

The 27-year-old Dunst on Thursday gave jurors a rundown of the August 2007 theft. She says she was filming the comedy “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People” at the SoHo Grand hotel when she discovered her $2,000 Balenciaga bag and its contents, including $2,000 in cash, were missing. The purse and her credit cards were eventually returned.

Thirty-five-year-old James Jimenez (HIM’-in-ehs) is charged with burglary. His lawyer has pinned the blame on a co-defendant who pleaded guilty to attempted burglary.

According to TMZ Britney’s ex is bucking to be a thin reality star. That’s right: Kevin Federline has signed up as an official cast member on the new season of Celebrity Fit Club.

He’s already on the set, though at this early stage there is no discernable difference in his overall body mass index.

K-Fed will reportedly join ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson, Baywatch beauty Nicole Eggert and singer Bobby Brown for the latest VH1 installment.
