Celebrity spinner DJ AM was found dead inside his Manhattan apartment Friday night – a crack pipe and several pill bottles nearby, police sources said.
The 36-year-old ex-boyfriend of Nicole Richie, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, was discovered in bed wearing only sweatpants at his $2 million SoHo pad, sources said.
“He hadn’t been there long,” a police source said.

Investigators found a glass pipe in his bedroom and at least seven bottles of prescription drugs on his kitchen counter, including the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, sources said.
A friend of Goldstein who had not heard from him knocked on his door, got no answer and called 911. Cops and FDNY workers found the body about 5:25 p.m., police said.
Goldstein’s death comes less than a year after he barely survived a plane crash with buddy and musical collaborator Travis Barker, the former drummer for Blink-182.
Four people were killed when the plane skidded off a South Carolina runway. Goldstein suffered severe burns.

“After the accident, he changed,” said close pal and fellow deejay Scott Schroer, 36. “He was more humble. He cared more about people and life.”
But the harrowing accident changed Goldstein in other ways, too, Schroer said.
“Prescription drugs? If you had been in a plane crash a year ago, I’m sure you’d have prescription drugs, too,” he told a Daily News reporter.
Goldstein was slated to star in a intervention-style MTV show, “Gone Too Far,” helping teens break their drug addictions and talking about his own substance-abuse battles.

“It makes me feel great,” Goldstein said in an interview with Extra in July. “People were there for me when I asked for help, and I had no idea how to stop, so I’m there for them.”
In a recent interview with the AP, he talked about holding a crack pipe for the first time in years for the show.
He was supposed to perform Friday night at the Rain nightclub inside The Palms in Las Vegas.
Just last Sunday, Goldstein threw out the first pitch at the Mets game at Citi Field.
His last Twitter message was posted three days ago. He quoted a famous verse by rapper Grandmaster Flash: “New York, New York. Big city of dreams, but everything in New York ain’t always what it seems.”
Shocked friends gathered outside Goldstein’s Lafayette St. apartment after word of his death spread.
“He was one of the nicest guys I ever met -he was a teddy bear,” said a pal who saw him Tuesday. “I can’t believe he survived a plane crash and then this happened,” said a pal who saw him Tuesday.
Born in Philadelphia, Goldstein battled addiction, obesity and depression as a teenager.
He landed in rehab at age 17 but returned to the California late-night rave scene and relapsed hard, doing drugs until 10 a.m. in his apartment.
“I would deejay until 2 a.m., go get drugs and stay up until 10 in the morning doing drugs in my apartment,” Goldstein told People in 2005.
“Then I would wake up and eat like a beast. I was the only fat crackhead in L.A.,” he told People in 2005.
Goldstein’s weight ballooned above 300 pounds, and his cocaine use continued until one night in 1997 when he shoved a .22-caliber gun into his mouth.
“My whole life flashed in front of me, and I knew this was not my destiny,” said Goldstein. “I started bawling my eyes out. I was like, ‘God, please help me.’ ”
After getting sober, he got gastric bypass surgery in 2003. He lost 155 pounds, dropping from a high of 324.
Goldstein was engaged to Richie in 2005, but the relationship was rocky and they called off the wedding.
Goldstein subsequently dated a number of starlets, including actress Mandy Moore and model Jessica Stam.
A slew of celebrities reacted to Goldstein’s sudden death on Twitter.
“I’m stunned. Rest in peace Adam,” singer-songwriter Josh Groban posted.
“I’m sorry to loved ones,” musician and video director Pete Wentz wrote. “So unexpected.”
Singer John Mayer wrote: “We’re supposed to lose our friends to time, at an age when we’re ready to agree to the terms of having lived a long life. Not now.”

These days if you want to keep up with the Kardashians you’ll have to market a fragance just as Kim is about to do.
She’s working in conjunction with a firm called Lighthouse Beauty.
“What’s so different about their approach is that they have worked closely with me on all aspects of my fragrance, the bottle, the juice, and even our distribution strategy,” says the reality show star.
“I can develop a product that truly represents me and speaks to my fans. Because of their commitment to including me in the process, the fragance really captures who I am.”
Kim in a bottle. Hmmmm.
Lighthouse Beauty is a new celebrity-oriented company which has “worked with some of the top talent in the entertainment industry” and has “a unique perspective on capturing the essence of a celebrity in a product,” says spokesman Chris Lighty.
There’s no date set for when the scent will be released and you, too, can smell like Kim.

Kristen Stewart is baring it all.
The Twilight star will appear nude in an upcoming indie flick, “Welcome to the Rileys,” also starring James Gandolfini. The “Twilight” star plays the role of a 16-year-old lap dancer and prostitute, Mallory.
The movie tells the story of how Mallory reunites a grieving couple (Gandolfini and Oscar nominee, Melissa Leo) who have fallen apart after the death of their young daughter eight years before. The speculation is that Stewart will strip in several scenes.
“It’s an independent movie that nobody would normally see and now it’s like, ‘Oh, let’s go see Bella in this stripper movie—it’ll be crazy!” the actress told WENN.com.
Also coming up for Stewart is her role playing Joan Jett in “The Runaways” due next year, and the next two movies in “The Twilight Saga.”

“GIRLS Gone Wild” tycoon Joe Francis was nursing a swollen jaw yesterday after a barroom brawl with reality TV star Brody Jenner and his girlfriend, Jayde Nicole, at the Guys & Dolls Lounge in Los Angeles.
“I’m going to the police to file assault charges,” Francis told Page Six yesterday. “The whole incident is on videotape. I’m the victim here. They will not get away with it.”
Francis said he was at the hot spot Thursday night talking to an ex-girlfriend when Nicole — the Playboy 2008 Playmate of the Year for 2008, best known for having the word “Respect” tattooed below her bikini line — turned violent.
“She comes up behind me, pushes me, and then dumps a glass of champagne on me, so I reached around and grabbed her hair,” Francis told Page Six.
Earlier, Jenner told TMZ that Francis punched Nicole in the face, threw her to the floor and started kicking her. And Nicole said she plans to file charges against Francis.
But Francis says, “These guys are complete liars.” When Jenner ripped his shirt off and knocked him down, “I went into a submissive ball. I covered my face and let the whole thing subside.”
Francis said Jenner — who’s appeared in “The Princes of Malibu,” “The Hills” and “Bromance” — was thrown out of the club by security men, and he left shortly after.
Then, “I was outside smoking a cigarette waiting for my driver,” Francis said. “The next thing I know, I’m waking up on the ground. Brody cold-cocked me.” Guards reportedly Tasered Jenner to subdue him.
A witness corroborated Francis’ account. “I didn’t actually see Francis punch her,” the bystander, a woman, said. “She definitely threw a drink on him and shoved him, and then he turned around and started pulling her hair. The next thing I knew, he was on the floor and there were a crowd of people around. It was chaos.”

Friends of Moakler say it’s because she wants a job. The Blink-182 rocker and the Playboy model got into a fight at Moakler’s home in Rhode Island “because Shanna is in a deal for a talk show. Travis wants her to be a stay-at-home mom,” said our source. “But she needs to support her three kids.” A rep for Barker said, “Travis knows nothing of a show in the works for Shanna. Any upset is out of the concern for the safety and well-being of their children.” Moakler’s rep declined to discuss “Shanna’s personal life.”

Mark Ronson, who’s deejaying with Q-Tip at today’s Long Live the King! party for Michael Jackson at Nokia Theatre Times Square, once had quite the night with the pop icon and childhood pal Sean Lennon: “It was during the ‘Bad’ tour when he was playing at the Garden,” recalled Ronson to The Post’s Sara Lieberman. “He had an after-party at his hotel room at the St. Regis and we were making soggies — toilet paper made into a wet ball — and chucking them from the penthouse.” Ronson, who was only about 12 at the time, chuckled, “It was a terrible, bratty thing to do. But [Michael] did it, too. He was definitely encouraging us. It was pretty cool.”

I don’t usually tune into CNN for commentary on celeb appearances, but I did just that earlier this week, when news correspondent Anderson Cooper (I think he’s kinda sexy) unleashed a two-minute tirade tearing Heidi Montag to shreds. Montag performed her song ‘Body Language,’ at the Miss Universe pageant, an event Cooper called a “fresh new way to embarrass herself.” Ouch. We’re always looking for a chance to talk to our new besties Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt, so we called them up for their exclusive take on the verbal throwdown… and found that they were thrilled.
“Oh my God, I love it,” Montag said. “I am so incredibly flattered that he’s talking about the first performance I’ve ever done, that he’s talking about me, that he knows who I am. Who gets on CNN? Britney, when she shaved her head, gets on CNN. That’s all that matters: Heidi, CNN, Anderson Cooper. Done.”
Not only does she not take Cooper’s comments personally, she thinks the extra publicity will help her career skyrocket. And as for Cooper musing “why she is pretending to be a singer or why anyone should listen to her,” it takes more than a news analyst to get Montag down. “We’re in the entertainment industry. It’s supposed to be fun. This is not so serious. We’re not judges,” she says, and adds that she could not be happier with her performance, no matter what they’re saying on CNN.
“I’d never performed before, not even in front of even ten people! Praise God. I had so much fun,” Montag says. “Look at everyone’s first performances – look at Britney’s first performance or Lady Gaga’s, even. These girls were hardly even dancing. Britney did a couple little moves; it took her two years to start dancing like I did that first night. And I didn’t mess up one move, I had so much fun, it was such a blessing. I was praying so hard, and I couldn’t have done better. It was miraculous!”
Montag may not take Cooper’s words to heart, but is Pratt as laissez-faire when a CNN anchor trash-talks his wife? He sure is. “He’s got his producers, and that’s what they want to cover? Go for it. I just find it funny that [CNN] is supposed to be the most serious, hard-hitting news. It’s crazy that he doesn’t have something else to talk about, like CIA torture or healthcare. It’s bizarre when that many seconds are spent being negative about celebrities. It’s silly, but hey, I would have paid him to do it.” Watch the video:

Pratt adds, “Thank you, Anderson Cooper, for using up CNN’s time to talk about my beautiful wife’s performance in the most-viewed telecast in the history of the world. Thank you, Silver Fox, for that.”
During the broadcast in question, a CNN contributor identified Montag to Cooper by saying, “You know, she married that annoying Spencer Pratt. They love themselves. They’re Speidi!”
