Chace Crawfords Birthday Diss

Jul 22, 2009 Author: showbiznews.info | Filed under: Celebrity News, Showbiz News, Celebrity Photos, Celebrity Gossip

Chace Crawford, who turned 24 on Saturday, celebrated by flying jetloads of friends in from Texas and taking them to Bridgehampton Polo. But the “Gossip Girl” star didn’t feel like posing for photos, and the scene inside the VIP tent turned ugly as his hangers-on started boxing out and strong-arming photographers angling for shots, prompting Crawford and his posse to flee before the final chukka. Also spotted: Kourtney Kardashian, Jill Zarin, Dave Zinczenko and door arbiter Wass Stevens.

Sexy ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews was the target of a peephole pervert who surreptitiously shot a video of her walking around her hotel room naked — and posted it on the Internet.

The sideline siren wants the creepy cameraman brought to justice, both for herself and to keep other victims from having to go through the same nightmare.

Andrews’ lawyer, Marshall B. Grossman, confirmed yesterday she was “surreptitiously videotaped” while “in the privacy of her hotel room.”

“Although the perpetrators of this criminal act have not yet been identified, when they are identified, she intends to bring both civil and criminal charges against them and against anyone who has published the material,” Grossman said.

In the video, Andrews is seen primping her hair and putting on her makeup.

The video and screen grabs first surfaced on the Internet under the title “Hot naked blonde who looks a lot like a sports blogger favorite in her hotel room,” according to the sports-and-gossip Web site Deadspin.

The site on which the images first appeared didn’t identify the woman as Andrews, whom Playboy calls “America’s Sexiest Sportscaster.”

But ESPN believes she was the victim of the crime.

It quickly got the video yanked by warning that it was taken by a peeping Tom — and that anyone circulating the film could be convicted as an accessory.

ESPN said Andrews “has been grievously wronged” and pledged to help with the investigation.

“Our people and resources are in full support of her as she deals with this abhorrent act,” a spokesman said yesterday.

At least one more version of the video, on YouTube, was also removed.

It’s been speculated that the video was taken in Omaha, Neb., last month while Andrews was covering the College World Series. But the local police department and US Attorney’s Office said no reports had been filed with them.

Meanwhile, voyeurs who tried to access the pictures after they were taken down were directed to sites that showed a blurry video of a naked, attractive blonde, touted as Andrews.

And when they clicked on the video, they got a computer virus.

“There are lots more sites out there pretending to host the Erin Andrews peephole but really hosting malicious software,” wrote Graham Cluley, of the anti-virus firm Sophos.

He said hackers took advantage of the instant celebrity status of the original video to circulate a fake. “And — surprise, surprise — if you visit those Web pages you could be putting the security of your computer at real risk,” he said.

Meanwhile, Andrews isn’t talking about the horrifying incident.

“We request respect of Erin’s privacy at this time, while she and her representatives are working with the authorities,” Grossman said.

Joe Jackson said in a televised interview Monday that he’s taken his son Michael’s death “very hard” and believes the doctor who took care of him could be behind the singer’s demise.

The patriarch of the Jackson family appeared on “Larry King Live” and implied his son’s personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, may be to blame for the death.

“The doctor gave him something to make him rest, and then he don’t wake up no more. Something is wrong there,” Jackson said. He did not refer to Murray by name.

A phone listing for Murray could not be found, and two messages left with his attorney, Edward Chernoff, on Monday night were not immediately returned.

The family is awaiting the coroner’s toxicology report to determine how Michael Jackson died at the age of 50. The results are expected next week.

Investigators obtained a search warrant and removed several bottles of the powerful anesthetic propofol from Jackson’s home, according to a person with knowledge of the investigation. The person is not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.

Jackson suggested Murray couldn’t be found following his son’s death on June 25.

“This doctor, he ran away. They had to look for him three days to find him. To me that is foul play,” Jackson said.

Police interviewed Murray two days after Jackson’s death. Authorities say he is a not a suspect, though the cardiologist is a key figure in the investigation because he was with Jackson in the mansion and tried to revive him. His car has been seized after police said they believe the vehicle may contain drugs or other evidence.

Wearing a black fedora and a gold medallion of Africa hanging around his neck, Jackson appeared on the show with promoter Leonard Rowe. When asked by King how he’s dealt with his son’s death, Joe Jackson replied, “I took it very hard.”

Jackson added he didn’t know where his son’s body is being kept and hasn’t seen the results from a second autopsy performed on Michael Jackson at the family’s request.

Sony Corp.’s movie studio has bid $50 million to acquire the worldwide distribution rights to a film based on rehearsal footage for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” comeback concert series, according to a person familiar with the bid.

The person said Monday that the bid came after several studios, including Paramount, Universal and 20th Century Fox, were shown footage starting early last week. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the bidding had not been completed. None of the studios would comment on the record.

The winning studio would produce the film with Jackson’s concert promoter, AEG Live, and his estate. It would go a long way to helping AEG Live recoup some of the $30 million to $32 million it spent producing the concert before Jackson died June 25.

The bidding was reported earlier by the Los Angeles Times and industry blogger Nikki Finke.

Sony Pictures has a leg up on other bidders because Sony Music distributes Jackson’s music and is in a 50-50 partnership with his estate in Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Sony’s bid is on par with the cost of making a mid-range budget movie, and is offset by the fact that the Sony group of companies would benefit from the music licensing rights attached to the film.

There is also massive interest in Jackson material worldwide. An estimated 31 million viewers in the U.S. alone watched the Jackson memorial service live earlier this month, according to Nielsen Media Research. That’s just shy of the 33 million U.S. viewers who watched Princess Diana’s funeral.

“This type of a story, if put together right, could be very compelling and draw a very, very wide audience,” said Mark Fleischer, an entertainment attorney with Venable LLP and former executive at MGM Studios.

The estate and AEG Live are also negotiating with several television networks and pay-per-view outlets on a TV special that would be a stage show featuring Jackson’s music and dancing. It would be directed by “This Is It” director Kenny Ortega.

The selling price being discussed for the rights to show the TV special is also in the tens of millions of dollars.

General Electric Co.’s NBC has been in talks on the TV show, but the concept, air date and cost for the rights has not been finalized, said NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks.

“We have no deal for the rights to the Michael Jackson special,” Marks said.

The special administrators of Jackson’s estate, attorney John Branca and former music executive John McClain, have been moving quickly to secure Jackson’s assets and cut deals to capitalize on the surge in interest in the pop star since he died.

Last week, Branca and McClain received signed court papers authorizing them to act on his estate’s behalf until another hearing Aug. 3. McClain has been sorting through unreleased Jackson recordings, while Sony Music is interested in releasing a commemorative album. Music sales have soared.

Jackson’s 2002 will named Branca and McClain as executors and directs all of his assets to be placed in a trust that will benefit his mother Katherine Jackson, his three children, and unnamed children’s charities. The estate is estimated to be worth more than $500 million.

But Katherine Jackson’s lawyers on Friday sought a judge’s ruling on whether she can challenge the authority of the men without triggering a “no contest” clause in the trust that would cause her to be disinherited.

The NY Post has a little blurb this morning about John Mayer and what he did for the one birthday he spent with Jessica Simpson. Well, actually he didn’t spend it with her because he was on tour. The Post says that Jessica had a party at Ken Paves house and that at some point during the party a gift arrived from John. What was the gift? A DVD of John on tour which Jessica then proceeded to play on a loop all night so she could be with him. Uh huh.

So, lets analyze this. Would John Mayer send a DVD of himself on tour as a birthday present? I think we can all agree he would do that. There is no one John loves more than John himself. Would Jessica put a DVD on a loop all night so she could see him? I think she would do that. I can see her saying it. It doesn’t mean she was sitting in front of the television watching it all night with some blank look in her eyes. Lots of people play CD’s in a loop, and I’m guessing if you have a child there may have been purely by accident a time that you put a DVD on a loop for your child. Purely by accident though.

The thing that seems not very John like is that he sent it to Ken Paves house. That part seems kind of odd. I think it is a great tale, but I think that because she got dumped on her birthday eve that people were looking for some other birthday stories about her they could share.

Jon Gosselin found new ways over the weekend to make himself look even more douchetastic. While Kate and his 8 kids were getting scared and hassled by paps in midtown Manhattan, Jon was a few blocks away ironing his Ed Hardy collection and combing his hair plugs.

Later that night when he could have been spending time with his kids, Jon decided he would rather spend time with another Kate. This Kate is Kate Major. She is a reporter for Star Magazine and seems perfectly willing to latch on to Jon for all he is worth. The NY Daily News didn’t have the kindest things to say about her and apparently when photographers were trying to get pics of Jon alone, she kept getting in the frame.

Kate says the pair are just friends. Uh huh. Well, whatever she is, she did manage to get him into a sport coat. If you had asked me I would have guessed he didn’t even own one so it shows you how much I know. It does bother me though that he has a brand new apartment in town and his kids were there and he didn’t even bother to show it to them. That makes no sense. He made no effort to see them on Saturday night despite the fact that several of them had been crying after the altercation Saturday afternoon where paps got into a struggle with security in front of the kids.

What kind of dad ignores that so he can go out on a date? Or a friend date or whatever? Speaking of kids, at the TLC shoot on Saturday it was Kate and all her kids and the Duggars and their kids. That is a ton of kids. That’s like an entire elementary school.

When Joe Jackson opens his mouth I really expect to either see his nose get larger or for horns to sprout from his head and the devil to start talking. Over the weekend he gave an interview to Chris Connelly who has never been afraid to ask tough questions. He asked Joe Jackson point blank whether Joe had ever beat Michael.

“Michael was never beat. And everyone spanked their kids when they did wrong. But not beat.”

First of all not everyone spanked their kids. I will admit it was much more prevalent than it is today, but still, not everyone spanked their kids. Plus, I think it is fair to say that no one in the Jackson family is ever going to come out and confirm what Joe said. Everyone knows he beat his kids. Over the years there have been books and articles and movies made that all talk about or show him beating his kids. He never sued. If someone accused you of beating your kids and you didn’t, don’t you think you might get upset and want the record set straight? Joe never did.

Joe takes this whole theory one step further though. He blames Katherine. “Katherine spanked Michael more than I did, ’cause I was working two jobs and she was at home with him the most.”

She might have spanked him more, but I’m guessing she wasn’t much of a beater. Talk about throwing someone under a bus. Is there a special place in hell for this guy? As messed up as Michael was in his life, I have to say that Joe Jackson is probably the root of about 99% of the messed up stuff.

Joe finished off Lie Fest ‘09 by saying, “We brought him up the right way.” The right way? If by the right way you mean doing everything you could possibly do wrong than yes, you succeeded beyond your wildest dreams.

Jeffrey Donovan Busted For DUI

Jul 21, 2009 Author: showbiznews.info | Filed under: Celebrity News, Showbiz News, Celebrity Photos, Celebrity Gossip

Jeffrey Donovan is the star of one of my favorite shows on television. I love Burn Notice. Last week in Miami Jeffrey had a little issue with the police. Well, not really a little issue. He got busted by the cops for suspicion of DUI. It’s amazing what being in Miami Beach will do for the delay in anyone finding out you were busted. Jeffrey was actually arrested last Sunday, July 12th and no one even knew until today.

According to TMZ, the police pulled him over last week, kept him for a few hours and then let him go. There is no word on if he was in an accident or what his blood alcohol level was alleged to be when he got pulled over.
