I don’t know what on earth made Denise Richards talk to The Globe, and after agreeing to do so why she would talk about her sex life, but she did. Specifically she addressed how she, umm satisfied her needs and where she takes care of those needs.

“You don’t want to bring them home to your house, but I have certain needs. Friends with benefits are awesome. I used to be like, ‘Oh no, you have to be in a relationship.’ But after going through a divorce, I’m like, ‘Life is short, I wanna have a good time.’”

And apparently she wants the world to know she is having a good time or else she would have kept this quiet. I don’t really need to know this. It is kind of like Jada Pinkett Smith and her never ending discussion of where and when she and Will have sex. I am so tired of writing about her stories that I didn’t even bother to write about what she said this week. In case you didn’t read about it, she claims that she and Will had sex in the limo on the way to the Academy Awards this year.

I know Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri were together for almost seven years but when I would see them together I never really got the feeling they were into each other. Hell, until they got together I thought Jermaine played for the home team.

Well now he can go back to doing what he was doing because the couple are over. No Jermaine at the memorial. No pictures of Janet and Jermaine consoling each other over the death of her brother. I think it has been over for a few months but because Janet is so secretive no one even thought to ask until Jermaine kept being a no show everywhere that Janet was during the past few weeks.

She probably would have kept it hidden until she found a new boyfriend. She is very good at that. It is tough in this town to be married for nine years and have no one know that until you get divorced. Jermaine was a producer on her last two CD’s which did really poorly. Don’t mix business and pleasure, especially when one of the people can fire the other or will be ordered to fire the other by a record company. Too much pressure.

TOM CRUISE performed a mini-show for concert-goers at BEYONCE’s Los Angeles gig on Monday night - by singing and dancing along to the superstar’s hit tune SINGLE LADIES (PUT A RING ON IT).

The Mission: Impossible actor attended the gig at the Staples Center without his wife Katie Holmes, who is shooting a new movie in Australia, but still managed to enjoy himself as he strutted his stuff throughout the night.

According to People.com, the Hollywood star raised cheers when he was spotted walking into the arena, and attendees couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Cruise following Beyonce and her dancers as they performed the famous dance routine for the catchy song.

Michael Jackson’s life has certainly been clouded in controversy — with his tragic and mysterious death, child molestation trials and career meltdown it’s easy to forget he was once the biggest star in the world, if not in history. But amid the ever-growing media storm MJ’s former sound engineer, Bruce Swedien (who worked alongside Quincy Jones) is spreading the word in his new anecdotal narrative “In the Studio With Michael Jackson” as too why he truly was the one and only King of Pop.

“Michael never came late to the studio, if anything he was early,” Swedien told Tarts. “And he never recorded with the lyrics, he would instead be up all night memorizing every line. He was just so polite and easy-to-please, something you don’t see too often in this industry. His motto was ‘the quality goes in before the name goes on’. He lived by that.”

Speaking of his artistry, Jackson even had orders for Mick Jagger while recording “State of Shock” in 1984.

“He had Mick doing scales for over an hour to warm-up before he would even start,” said Swedien.

So was the “Rolling Stones” bad boy too happy about it?

“Let’s just say he did it,” Swedien responded.

And just days before his sudden death, that perfectionism was still pumping.

“Michael knew what he was doing, he wasn’t insecure,” said Swedien. “He didn’t respond to the pressure (of the “comeback tour”) and wasn’t afraid at all.”

However when it came to Jackson’s dark side, there were two things that caused him pain: his father and the press.

“There were times when Quincy (Jones) and I would have to escort Joe Jackson out of the studio because he would come and start bothering Michael,” said Swedien, adding that he used to get quite depressed over the press’ perception of him. “Michael always used to say ‘how can they say that about me? They don’t know me’ … I miss him.”

MJ’s Cause Of Death: Why Is It Taking So Long?

It has been almost three weeks since Jackson died and we still don’t officially know what caused his premature passing. So what is taking so long?

“The reason it takes so long is that the tissues such as the brain needs to be “fixed” in formalin or other preservatives for a period of time to harden the tissue to it can be grossly and microscopically examined. Some tissue such as the brain cannot be examined or test closely in the fresh state because the tissue is too friable and would break apart without fixing in formalin,” explained Gary Brazina, M.D., FACS, board certified Orthopedic surgeon in Marina del Rey, Ca. “Chemical tests can be performed such as chromatography to find metabolic by products of drugs and this is time consuming.”

So what is it that the doctor’s are examining?

“They are looking for tissue levels of any of a myriad of drugs such as opiates, benzodiazapenes, cocaine, barbiturates,” Brazina said. “They look for these drugs and their concentration in different tissues. Some medications are cardio toxic, liver toxic and toxic to kidneys. Different medications metabolize at different rates and are metabolized or are broken down in different tissues, at different times. The tissue can then be sliced to microscopic sections for close cellular examination, sometimes even using an electron microscope.”

He didn’t exactly beat the rap, but the son of Run-DMC legend Rev Run got a wrist slap Thursday for his pot and resisting arrest bust.

Joseph (JoJo) Simmons, 19, was ordered to perform one day of community service and stay out of trouble for a year after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct.

The drug charge against the aspiring rap star was dismissed, his lawyer Paul Nalven said.

The somber-looking hip-hop scion sat next to his father - star of MTV’s “Run’s House” - in a dark blue suit and tie.

He was arrested May 8 in Washington Heights after officers allegedly spotted him rolling a joint behind the wheel of his BMW, which has “JoJo” embroidered on the head rests.

His father had no comment after the sentencing.

If Bethenny Frankel’s reported new TV show “Skinny & the City” ever comes to fruition, there’s at least one person who won’t be pleased for the reality star: skinnyandthecity.com founder Tanya Zuckerbrot.

When reports surfaced on Thursday that Frankel had scored a solo Bravo show apart from her “Real Housewives of New York” counterparts, we contacted Zuckerbrot for her take on the potential brand theft.

“I was shocked,” the registered dietitian told us. “I couldn’t believe that someone of Bethenny’s stature wouldn’t be aware of my Web site.”

Skinnyandthecity.com, which offers nutritional advice to New York women, is slightly different from Frankel’s Skinnygirl. That trademark allows women to enjoy food and drink while consuming far fewer calories: For example, the Skinnygirl margarita has just 245 calories compared with the usual 740.

For her part, Zuckerbrot tells us that her Web site is her passion, and if Frankel so much as attempts to steal the name, she’ll be all over her like white on rice.

“Me and my staff spent a considerable amount of time brainstorming [the name of the site] and decided ‘Skinny and the City’ truly encapsulates the philosophy I preach,” Zuckerbrot said.

Adds a pal of Zuckerbrot’s, “Tanya is currently in talks with her corporate attorneys.”

Meanwhile, a source close to “Naturally Thin” author Frankel says nothing has been signed on the dotted line in regards to her own show — but she’d definitely be on board should the opportunity arise.

Says the insider: “Why wouldn’t she want her own show? Who would stay on a stage with five or six other ladies when she can have her very own platform?

Mischa Barton — the formerly willowy star of “The O.C.” — was taken away by police and hospitalized under California’s involuntary psychiatric-hold law just hours before she was due to fly to New York for the premiere of her movie, “Homecoming”.

Police were called to Barton’s Los Angeles home at 3 p.m. Wednesday to assist her with a “medical issue,” according to “Access Hollywood.”

Cops took her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was hospitalized under Section 5150 of the California Welfare & Institutions Code, which allows authorities to hold a person for up to 72 hours if they present a danger to themselves or to others.

Barton, 23, looked bloated and almost unrecognizable at a public appearance last week, which her reps blamed on the removal of a wisdom tooth.

The once-scary-skinny starlet was arrested for DUI and marijuana possession in LA after driving in two lanes during a break from the movie’s location work in Pittsburgh last year. She later checked into rehab.

It was reported that Barton would attend the premiere after we’d been assured by publicist R. Couri Hay that producers “Bingo [Gubelmann] and Austin [Stark] are hand-holding her from 4:30 to the premiere and through to the after-party at Pink Elephant, as she realizes the film is important to her.”

Stark said, “She was really professional and worked hard. It’s a shame she can’t come out and promote the movie. She did a great job.”

Barton’s publicist told People, “Police were involved due to Ms. Barton’s celebrity status to safely transfer her to medical treatment as per doctor’s orders.” The rep said Barton was now “OK” and “resting.”

A source tells us Spears and Austin spent some time together “two weeks ago at Dallas’ house” in Atlanta, where, “It was just the two of them for a few nights.” Another source told us that while they were there, the power duo “discussed music, life, and work.” A rep for Austin denies the two are dating: “They are good friends and have been for a long time.”
