Angelina Jolie has dethroned Oprah Winfrey as the world’s most powerful celebrity, according to Forbes.
The actress grabbed the No. 1 spot from the talk show queen on the magazine’s annual Celebrity 100 list, which ranks the rich and famous based on media exposure and career earnings over the past year.
Jolie, a reigning tabloid fixture, earned $27 million, bumping her up from third place on last year’s list, Forbes said, adding that she wields more power due to high-profile turns in hit films such as “Wanted” and “Kung Fu Panda.”
At No. 2, Winfrey is still the highest earner - $275 million.
Madonna came in third, trailed by Beyonce, Tiger Woods, Bruce Springsteen and Steven Spielberg.
Two other celebs tied up in Jolie’s tabloid universe - Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt - came in at eighth and ninth place, respectively.
Tenth place goes to Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, thanks in part to endorsement deals scored after the Beijing Olympics.
About halfway down the list sits a very familiar face: President Barack Obama. At No. 49, Obama’s the first sitting head of state to appear on this Forbes fixture because of his worldwide fame, his historic election and his career as a best-selling author.
Newcomers to the list: Alec Baldwin (No. 91); Meryl Streep (No. 64); Toby Keith (No. 59); Rascal Flatts (No. 42); TV host Glenn Beck (No. 81); and teen singing superstar Taylor Swift (No. 69).
Although he’s one of the biggest acts in entertainment, Justin Timberlake went from 12th to falling off the list completely, since ending his lucrative “FutureSex/LoveShow” concert tour.
Jennifer Lopez, Johnny Depp and Tyra Banks also dropped off the list.

Eminem says last weekend’s MTV Movie Awards stunt was Sacha Baron Cohen’s idea.
“Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the movie awards,” he tells RapRadar.com. “I’m a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag.”
During Sunday night’s show, the rapper ended up with Cohen — dressed up as his flamboyant character, Bruno — landing face-down in his lap. After the showdown, viewers questioned whether it was staged. (A show writer admitted it was on Tuesday.)
“I’m thrilled we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it,” Eminem says. “It had so many people going ‘nuts’ so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it.
“After the ceremony I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about three hours,” he goes on. “Especially after I saw it on air.”
Eminem also denied reports that a thief broke into his hotel room during the Sunday awards ceremony and swiped $60,000 and a laptop.
“The only thing was that I lost a Nike watch that we were looking for,
he says. “The rest it is made up — like half the other stuff out there.”

Kim Kardashian has set the record straight about her relationship with beau Reggie Bush — again.
The reality show star promises she’ll tell her fans when she and Bush make it official. She talked about it yesterday on her official blog:
I am not engaged!!! My new publicist was talking with Star Magazine earlier today and accidently referred to Reggie as my fiance so they posted the news on their website! There have been so many rumors flying around recently about Reggie and I being engaged that she assumed we were! So, sorry Star Magazine for ruining your exclusive! It’s totally my publicist’s fault haha. She said she gets so many wedding requests she thought we were actually engaged. The rumors about me picking out my ring recently are also not true! I don’t know where all this comes from!!
Don’t worry guys, you will be the first to know if and when I get engaged!!… Well after I tell my family, of course!

So who wore this Alexander Wang dress best?

It’s every girl’s nightmare. You spend all day getting ready - choosing the perfect dress, picking the shoes to match, perfecting hair and make up for the occasion.
Then, as you waltz into the party feeling a million dollars, you bump straight into a rival- wearing the same dress. Suddenly a million dollars feels like a million lira - especially if said rival looks better in the dress than you do.
So while Paris and Rihanna, both in their own individual way a darling of the social circuit (and the fashion world), weren’t spotted at the same party in the matching dresses, they were both pictured out in the same city wearing the same dress.
Paris Hilton, 28, last night out with current beau Doug Reinhardt chose the strapless Alexander Wang corset dress to watch the Rock of Ages musical on New York’s Broadway after appearing on the David Letterman show.
But she’d been pipped to the fashion post. If she’d been checking the news, she might have seen 19-year-old Rihanna stepping out in Manhatten, New York, two weeks ago, dressing to the nines to visit the apartment of rapper and producer Kanye West, with whom she is rumoured to be romantically linked.
For a mere mortal, a contemporary rocking the same dress as us in a city the size of New York zone wouldn’t be a problem. But for international stars like these girls, all the world’s a stage - and as far as media coverage is concerned, it’s the same stage.
Fortunately for Paris and Rihanna, both are, as Paris would say, hot, and both wore the dress well.
But who wore it best?
Paris went for a statement yoke necklace, round-toed platforms and matching half-moon clutch. Her hair was left loose, but the bouncy, glossy lengthy bob in high-maintenance blonde speaks of plenty of time spent in the hairdresser’s chair.
Rihanna let the dress speak for itself, eschewing jewellery, simply quiffing her hair into an enormous bouffant bun on top of her head, and throwing a low-slung silver bag over her shoulder.

Kathie Lee Gifford — whose own marriage was put to the test when her husband Frank had a 1997 fling with a flight attendant — has a message for embattled reality star Kate Gosselin.
“I would turn off the cameras if I were them and just work on healing together as a family,” Gifford told Usmagazine.com Monday at a spring gala for the American Theatre Wing in NYC. “Who knows the long-term damage something like this could do? I understand they are making a living, but you have to wonder at what price.”
Despite her concerns for the family, Gifford said she hasn’t been keeping up with all the Gosselin’s day-to-day drama.
“I have to say no,” she said. “Frank and I are probably the only two people in America avoiding that show. We are not reality fans and prefer to live reality. We sure don’t want cameras following us around and picking on us!”

Heidi and Spencer Pratt are not back in the jungle, but they are hoping to be.
Spencer, one half of “The Hills” couple who quit “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here” three times since arriving in Costa Rica over the weekend, is “begging” he and his wife be allowed back on the show, a source close to the production told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush.
During Monday night’s premiere, the couple walked off the set on two separate occasions and sat out during the first live contest at the end of the show, quitting the show for a third time shortly thereafter.
In fact, a source close to the couple revealed they were set to arrive home in Los Angeles from Costa Rica early Wednesday morning.
Hours later, however, a source close to the show said the couple had asked to return to the reality series.
But, according to “I’m A Celebrity…” rules, the couple cannot come back on the show unless the cast agrees. America may also be asked to vote on whether they can come back as well.
Additionally on Tuesday, a show source told Access that Holly Montag, Heidi’s sister and fellow “Hills” castmate, may be joining “I’m A Celebrity.”
“Holly is on a plane [to Costa Rica],” the source said.
The source added that Holly is “appalled at what her sister faced” in the jungle thus far and she wants to redeem the family name for charity.
People magazine also reported that Daniel Baldwin, brother of current jungle-dweller Stephen Baldwin, may be heading into the jungle as well.
In related news, a rat attempted to upstage the blonde “Hills” couple’s antics in the jungle on Tuesday when it bit the hand of castmate Lou Diamond Phillips.
Just one day after Janice Dickinson scolded Spencer for throwing food in the fire because, she warned — it can attract rats, an experience she has first hand knowledge of from her appearance on the U.K. version of the reality show — Lou was bitten.

What John Grisham wants, John Grisham gets.
The author was pulling for Shia LaBeouf to sign on to his latest novel-turned-movie, “The Associate,” and he got his wish. “I think he’ll be wonderful!” Grisham gushes. “He’s a very talented actor, and he’s hot. He’s the hottest 22-year-old actor in America, and I think he’ll do a wonderful job.”
Lucky LaBeouf will join the ranks of Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Matthew McConaughey and Kiefer Sutherland, who’ve all appeared in flicks based on Grisham novels.
