Ken Paves, who rode Simpson’s coattails for years, usually insists on doing her hair for major shoots, but most magazines don’t want to work with him because he’s the king of “Texas” hair, charges so much and isn’t considered “timely.” So it came as a surprise to insiders when they saw that Oribe had styled Simpson for this month’s Vanity Fair. Especially as, several years ago when Simpson was a huge star, the magazine had offered her the cover — but she turned them down because they didn’t want to work with Paves. A rep for Simpson said, “[Photographer] Mario Testino insisted on his team, and we agreed. Mario is a genius. The photos are gorgeous and transformative.”

The Cannes Film Festival took a serious turn Thursday night, when Sharon Stone honored the memory of her friend Natasha Richardson at amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS event.
Stone, 51, hosted the annual charity event, held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc on the Cap D’Antibes. The star, who was introduced on stage by studio head Harvey Weinstein, grew teary as she spoke of her friend and co-amfAR worker Richardson, who died in March after a head injury from a skiing accident.
“This year we lost an angel from our amfAR family. It was one of those random events that leaves you in a state of shock and profound grief. In March the funny, graceful Natasha Richardson was taken from us,” said Stone.
Wiping her eyes, she whispered into the microphone: “People say, ‘Oh, she can’t really have been that great or graceful.’ She was. ‘That funny, charming, sweet and elegant.’ She was. She left behind her husband and two stunningly beautiful children and an unfinished mission to help us find a cure AIDS.”
After a short film chronicling Richardson’s tireless campaigning for the charity, Stone read a note from Richardson’s husband, Liam Neeson, urging everyone to continue with their great work. Stone also pledged $50,000 of her own money to honor Richardson.
Completing the emotional tribute, Annie Lennox performed “Talking To An Angel,” then said, “That was for Natasha.”

Sean Penn doesn’t want to break-up with Robin Wright Penn after all.
Weeks after filing for legal separation from his wife of 13 years, Penn has withdrawn his motion, pulling the papers from California’s Marin County Superior Court.
“It was an arrogant mistake,” Penn told the Daily News.
The dramatic change of heart puts the ball in his wife’s court.
She had 30 days to respond to her husband’s April 24 filing, and she didn’t. A spokeswoman for the actress, who is a juror at the Cannes Film Festival in France, had no comment.
This wouldn’t be the first time they’ve kissed and made up.
Penn, 48, and Wright Penn, 43, launched a divorce action in the same court in December 2007 only to yank the petition four months later.
This time around, Penn asked the court for joint physical and legal custody of their children, daughter Dylan, 18 and son, Hopper, 15. He also asked the judge to deny his wife spousal support.
Friends of the couple believe Penn filed his petition in a fit of pique.
“They love each other like crazy but they fight like crazy,” said a pal.
“They may have gotten into a fight where she said she wanted a divorce and he filed just to beat her to the punch, even though he doesn’t want a divorce.
“That doesn’t mean they’re suddenly happy and in love. It’s anyone’s guess where this is going.”
Penn might also have filed to protect his assets. Had he gone through with it, his attorneys could have argued Wright isn’t entitled to marital income after the date of their separation - which Penn put as April 23.
The two-time Oscar-winner earned $5 million for 2001’s “I Am Sam,” but he could be in for a much bigger payday on “The Three Stooges” with Jim Carrey and Benicio del Toro.
A friend said Penn’s bid to deny support or legal fees for his wife doesn’t mean he’s a “cheap guy.”
“He will always take care of his family. He would never allow anyone else to take care of his kids,” the friend said.
Actress Natalie Portman recently denied rumors that she was “romantically involved” with Penn, calling him “a friend and colleague.”
Penn has been in New York shooting, “Fair Game,” in which he plays former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, husband of CIA agent Valerie Plame.
Meanwhile, Wright Penn arrived solo - looking stunning in white sheath gown - at Wednesday’s Cannes premiere of “Inglourious Basterds.”

Rihanna hasn’t found a new man just yet.
Despite reports that the star spent Monday night “stealing kisses” from Canadian hip-hop artist Aubrey “Drake” Graham, he denies any romance.
“Nah, nah, nah, it’s not like that at all,” he said in an interview on NYC’s Hot 97 radio station Thursday. “I’m being honest, man. [She’s] just a friend. That’s all.”
Rumors that he was dating Chris Brown’s ex began when the New York Post reported that the pair went to NYC’s Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge and stayed at each other’s sides all night until they left together.
The two of them were stealing kisses here and there the whole night,” a source had told the Post. “They were very cute. Both of them were in really good spirits [and] she was having a great time.”
Although he confirmed that they did enjoy bowling and drinks together, Graham insisted he and the 21-year-old singer were “just friends” hanging out.
“I have the utmost respect for her,” he said. “I think she’s so talented.”

After starring in 2004 sex tape 1 Night In Paris, you’d expect Paris Hilton to stay away from home videos.
But during her latest night out in Cannes, the hotel heiress shed her inhibitions and put on a sexy show as she was filmed by her latest boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.
After changing from a gold sequinned mini-dress into a tiny black number, the socialite ended up flashing her panties at fellow partygoers as she grappled with Doug on the dancefloor.
After filming Paris, 28, perform a sexy dance, besotted Doug, 23, pulled his girlfriend onto his lap for a very public kissing session.

The couple, who have been dating for three months, couldn’t keep their hands off each other at the VIP Rooms club on the French Riviera.
Earlier that night, the couple put on another display of public affection as they enjoyed a spot of tonsil-tennis in full view of the hundreds of revellers.
The bash was held in honour of Paris to celebrate the sale of her documentary Paris, Not France, which she has been touting around the festival this week.

After attending the premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s film Inglourious Basterds in a chic silver strapless gown earlier that evening, Paris briefly popped back to her room at the Hotel Du Cap to change into something more nightclub friendly.
While baseball star Doug remained in his black suit - but lost the tie for a more casual look - Paris went for an all-gold ensemble in a sequinned mini-dress and matching accessories.

Since arriving on the French Riviera at the weekend, Paris has been out every night and regularly ended up at the VIP Rooms.
However, her reason for choosing VIP Rooms may have financial motivation.

The New York Post reports VIP Rooms is the only club in Cannes who agreed to pay her to attend.
Paris makes a lot of her multi-million dollar fortune by charging for public appearances at nightclubs across the world.

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson went out and had some sushi together. These two just can’t quit each other (God I am good at this). They were seen together at Matsuhia in Los Angeles, apparently a bit giddy. Yeah, this is the big news of today. I rock. More from The Sun.
The former couple were spotted going for sushi together at Matsuhisa restaurant in Los Angeles last night.
There is no confirmation of what conversation was on the menu, but Lindsay was spotted smiling as she left the posh eaterie, albeit on her own.

Kim Kardashian continued to rock her bikini this week in Miami. She looks great, but damn, how long does it take to get all that make up on just to hit the beach? These pictures are roughly the same as the ones Kim Kardashian had in the Caribbean wearing a bikini. Enjoy the pictures.
