At Sundance, she latched onto MySpace founder Chris DeWolfe, who ditched her days later. But before that, we’ve learned, she had her eye on David Maisel, chairman of Marvel Studios. Maisel was fawning all over Hilton at Golden Globes weekend parties, but backed off when he realized she was persona non grata in Hollywood society. Maisel brought Paris to the CAA party at the Sunset Tower. As Page Six reported, she was escorted out by security on the orders of CAA bigs who were furious she’d gotten in. After she left crying, spies saw Maisel “groveling and apologiz ing” to CAA head Kevin Huvane for bringing her. A friend said, “David did bring her but he had another date with him. She was denied entry and he didn’t go in to the party and left with Paris and his date.” Maisel’s rep declined to comment.

TOM Cruise could use a geography lesson. In Rio de Janeiro hawking “Valkyrie,” Cruise tried to ingratiate himself to reporters by saying hola (hello) and gracias (thanks), not realizing that the language of Brazil is Portuguese, not Spanish. According to Glamurama.com, Cruise also said he fell in love with Brazil watching movies about samba and tango, unaware that tango is an Argentine dance. Cruise, who’s been staying with wife Katie and baby Suri at the Copacabana Palace, took a side trip to the private island of plastic surgeon Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, who has his own landing strip and a menagerie of exotic animals.

WHILE Usher is in Las Vegas recording his next album, his wife, Tameka Foster, is not very happy about being left in Atlanta with their kids, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd Ely. “Tameka is really upset that she was asked not to come to Vegas with Usher in December when he left to work on his next album,” said an industry insider. “She tried to have so much influence over his last project that this time, the people involved with the record said she had to stay away.” Our tipster added, “Tameka’s keeping her distance seems to be helping Usher,” who recently got a full-length arm tattoo featuring various members of his family. His rep insists, “Usher and Tameka have a solid relationship and she understands the demands of his recording schedule. He’s been in the studio with Pharrell Williams and Jermaine Dupri working hard on his next album.”

Another 90210-er may be making a stop in the Twilight zone.

I’m hearing that filmmakers have been considering the idea of casting 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord as Heidi in the upcoming New Moon, the much-anticipated sequel to Twilight.

Heidi isn’t a major character in the book, but McCord definitely has the gorgeous looks to pull it off.

The character is a “fisher” who brings humans to the Volturi vampires to eat. She’s also known as “bait” because of the way she uses her stunning looks to attract humans. In her brief appearance in the book, Bella describes Heidi as having “exceptional, unforgettable” beauty. She has stunning legs, long hair and violet eyes.

Sources tell me McCord has auditioned for the role. “It’s not a big part,” one of the sources said. “Heidi would be more like a cameo.”
McCord should feel pretty comfortable on the set. Her 90210 costar Kellan Lutz—and rumored real-life boyfriend—played Emmett in Twilight and will return for the sequel.

McCord’s rep did not immediately comment nor did a rep for the studio, Summit Entertainment.

Director Chris Weitz is expected to start shooting the flick with Robert Pattinson & Co. next month in Washington state and Italy with a Nov. 20 release date. Summit has yet to make any major new casting announcements for New Moon. However, as I exclusively reported, Dakota Fanning is in serious talks to play Jane.

Oh snap! Just when we thought Etta James may have been happy about Beyonce singing her song “At Last” for the Prez and First Ladies’ First Dance on Inauguration night, we were thoroughly wrong. Fierce Kitty Etta showed who the real Diva was popped off extra hard on Beyonce during her concert in Seattle a few nights ago. She told the crowd: You know, YOUR President, the one with the big ears-he ain’t MY President–had that woman singing for him at his Inauguration. She’s going to get her ass whooped….Beyonce…I can’t stand Beyonce.”

She went on asking “How dare Beyonce sing MY song that I been singing forever. Now I’m going to sing it for y’all….” I wonder if she whispered something in Beyonce’s ear during the Cadillac Records premiere.

Chick even popped off on President Obama. I would ask if she smoked something before she hopped on stage, but that would be inappropriate. Even the Seattle papers were shocked. I always knew Ms. Etta was fiesty, but damn. Somebody no likey Beyonce–at all. Check the audio here.

TV Land announced today that film and television actress Vivica A. Fox will host the upcoming TV Land original series “The Cougar,” a one-hour elimination dating series set to premiere in April on TV Land PRIME. Executive produced by Mike Fleiss (“The Bachelor”) and Warner Horizon Television, “The Cougar” is an eight-episode series in which an accomplished, beautiful and sexy woman hunts for love from a pool of eligible younger men.

“I’m so excited to be the guide for ‘The Cougar’s’ quest for love,” says Vivica A. Fox. “This show will prove to be empowering and enlightening for women everywhere. Plus, 20 hot guys gathered under one roof doesn’t hurt!”

“Vivica is a pop culture celebrity who uniquely connects with our audience and whose distinctive style and sense of humor will help TV Land deliver on our promise to create entertaining programs that reflect the lifestyles and tastes of our viewers,” stated Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land. “I’m thrilled that she will take viewers on our Cougar’s romantic journey.”

In 2009, Fox returns as Larry David’s new houseguest in HBO’s hit comedy, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and also co-stars with Jessica Simpson, Cheri Oteri and Steve Guttenberg in the upcoming feature comedy “Major Movie Star.” In 2008, Fox returned to her crime-solving roots as an FBI agent in pursuit of a serial killer in the suspense thriller “Junkyard Dog.” Switching to a dramatic role, Fox co-starred in “Cover,” a film directed by Bill Duke and based on a true story about the effects of HIV and AIDS in the African American community.

Continuing her producing efforts, Fox starred in and co-produced “Three Can Play That Game” (Sony/Screen Gems), co-starring Tony Rock. This romantic comedy is the sequel to the hit feature film “Two Can Play That Game.” Fox also starred in and co-produced the suspense thriller “Motives 2.” Vivica then lent her voice to the animated feature “Unstable Fables,” as well as starring as the animated character Black Velvet in the WB’s “New Loony Tunes.”

Fox is also well-known for her role as Vernita Green in the 2003 Quentin Tarantino smash, “Kill Bill: Vol 1.”

Fox was also voted one of People magazine’s 50 most beautiful people.

ELLE.com has just posted the new cover with Jessica Alba. In the spread, she poses with several up and coming designers, including Joseph Altazurra (pictured), Rad Hourani, Frank Tell, Julian Louie and Jason Wu. She discusses her all new life, motherhood and her desire to be considered a serious actress.

-On giving birth: “Contractions aren’t that bad. If you’ve ever had bad cramps? That’s what they’re like. But that moment when they put the baby on your chest – that’s deep. It’s a deep experience.”

-On snapping back into shape so quickly after giving birth: “I did it for the Campari job. [The workouts] were horrible. I cried. And I haven’t worked out since.”

-Her secret to looking slim after giving birth: “I wore a girdle. Eight weeks after my girlfriend had her baby, you could see her six-pack. She told me to put an elastic band around my waist – any kind of band or girdle works. She was like, “I slept in it.” I didn’t recover as fast as she did. I don’t have a six-pack – that’s just not my body at all.”

-On having an exotic look: “Anyone who’s part of pop culture is going to be sensationalized and spun into something, some one-liner. Also, there aren’t many other stars, besides Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez, who most people in the world can related to. We look like people of the world – I can kind of mix in with girls in Asia, South America, Europe.”
