Tracy Morgan says a faulty fish tank light apparently sparked a fire in his New York City apartment, but no one was hurt - not even the fish.

Firefighters were called to the comedian-actor’s Manhattan apartment Wednesday morning. It’s unclear whether the “30 Rock” star or anyone else was there.

In a statement, Morgan says the fire was contained to the area around the aquarium. He says sprinklers went off, and “even the fish are OK.”

The Fire Department says the blaze was brought under control in less than half an hour.

The 40-year-old former “Saturday Night Live” actor is thanking firefighters for “their quick action.”

Tatiana Del Toro had something else to cry about. The emotional 28-year-old crooner from San Juan, Puerto Rico, was one of nine “American Idol” semifinalists sent packing Wednesday. Del Toro, whom judge Simon Cowell called a “drama queen” after her performance Tuesday, bawled after she wasn’t selected to continue in the “Fox” singing competition.

“It’s up to America,” she told host Ryan Seacrest before the results. “It’s up to the power of love.”

No tears were shed by the first three finalists of season eight: Alexis Grace, the soulful 21-year-old single mother from Memphis, Tenn.; Michael Sarver, the beefy 27-year-old oil rig worker from Jasper, Texas; and Danny Gokey, the spikey-haired 28-year-old church music director from Milwaukee. The trio received the most viewer votes.

Recent widower Gokey overwhelmed the judges with Mariah Carey’s “Hero” at the conclusion of Tuesday’s ho-hum performance episode. They were also impressed with Grace’s take on Aretha Franklin’s “Never Loved a Man,” comparing her to first “Idol” Kelly Clarkson. Sarver, who sang Gavin Degraw’s “I Don’t Wanna Be,” received a mixed reaction from the panel.

“I think if you get through, it’s because people like you,” Cowell told Sarver on Tuesday.

Next week, 12 more semifinalists will vie for three spots in the competition’s top 12, but Del Toro and the other dismissed semifinalists, such as Anoop Desai and Ricky Braddy, may have another chance. After the first nine finalists are selected by viewer votes, the judges will pick the last three finalists following a wild card round March 5.

Katy Perry threw up backstage at the BRIT Awards tonight (February 18) just moments after winning the award for Best International Female.

The singer was feeling unwell all day, but managed to make it to the ceremony to pick up the gong.

Perry reportedly sent a text message to gossip blogger Perez Hilton, saying she felt it was very punk rock to “barf and bail”.

She kicks off a UK tour next week with a show on February 25 in Manchester.

After being the first outlet to report that M.I.A. had delivered her baby and would not be performing at this year’s 81st Academy Awards, HitFix can now exclusively confirm that Robert Pattinson will be presenting an award during this year’s telecast.

The “Twilight” star had long been rumored to appear on Hollywood’s biggest night, but barring any unforeseen last minute conflicts, he’ll be giving the franchise’s legion of fans something to look forward to on Oscar Sunday.

Still unclear is whether Pattinson’s “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart will also appear on the telecast and what award he will specifically present. And, obviously, speculation will now run rampant on who Pattinson’s date down the red carpet will be.

Pattinson rose to super-stardom after being chose to play the dreamy vampire Edward Cullen in “Twilight.” The first in a series of big screen adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s popular book series, “Twilight” astounded the industry by raking in $188 million domestically and $357 million worldwide.

The 22-year-old Brit will appear later this spring as Salvador Dali in the indie drama “Little Ashes.” He’s expected to begin production next month on the “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon” which will be released Nov. 20.

Start spreading the news: Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are heading to the Big Apple.

The two were photographed checking out their new Manhattan apartment on Monday.

“The apartment is great. He’s loving it!” the singer’s mother, Lynn Harless, told Us of his NYC pad with Biel, at his William Rast fashion show on Monday.

Biel — who was seated next to Emile Hirsch — sat front row at the show, where she clapped often for her beau.

Harless told Us she is equally proud of her son.

“I’ve always been a music person first and foremost, but I think we’ve all become serial entrepreneurs,” she said of her son’s idea to start a clothing line with pal Trace Ayala. “We are open to whatever comes along.”

Lindsay Lohan fended off attacks earlier this week, after her thin frame became the focus of attention.

And now, her mom is stepping up to defend her daughter.

In a new interview for Access Hollywood and “The Billy Bush Show,” Dina Lohan defended Lindsay’s skinny physique.

“I don’t know why people care about other people’s weight. I think they should look in their own mirror and stare at themselves,” Dina told Billy. “I’m a mom. If I see my daughter a little thin, I say, ‘Eat more McDonald’s.’”

Earlier this week, Lindsay also referred to the fast-food chain in defending herself from comments in the media suggesting she and girlfriend Samantha Ronson were in competition to see who could become thinner.

“I eat. I had my Big Mac yesterday from McDonald’s,” Lindsay told Us Weekly on Monday. “I eat as much as I always have.”

Still, Dina says it wouldn’t kill her daughter to add a few pounds.

“I told Lindsay I think she’s a little thin,” Dina admitted. “But we go through this every couple of months. My daughter is happy and healthy and that’s all that really matters.”

Dealing with tabloid attention is certainly nothing new for Dina and her family and she said it’s something they’ve learned to ignore.

“We try to keep it at bay and not really read it or engage in it because it’s just other people’s opinions,” she continued. “We’ve got hit pretty hard in the past, so we don’t really go there.”
