After yesterday’s shocking release of the 911 call from Donda West’s tragic death, Dr. 90210’s Robert Rey defends his profession and in particular, West’s surgeon Dr. Jan Adams.

Dr. Rey told PageSix.com exclusively, “Dr. Jan is a good man.” Referring to Adams’ role in West’s tragic death, Rey said, “I feel we are crucifying a man without getting the results of the autopsy — and we have to be very careful about that.”

Rey added that West’s death doesn’t mean that every plastic surgeon should come under fire — himself included! In response to recent questions about his qualifications, he said, “I did general surgery, and I did general plastic surgery, followed by a fellowship in breast and cosmetic surgery at Harvard Medical School.”

On the subject of board certification Rey surprisingly claimed, “Board certification is just an extra credential — it’s not necessary to have it, you don’t have to be board certified to practice plastic surgery, board certification is more of a marketing thing.”

It’s easy to protect yourself from a bad surgeon. Rey advised, “Call the medical board of your state and check they are licensed and in good standing.”

Sadly had Donda West known to research Dr. Jan Adams with the California State Medical Board, she would have discovered that Adams had multiple malpractice lawsuits against him.
